The Wedding Part 3 - The Streets

As in Italian tradition, after the festivities at the church were over, the bride and groom led the entire wedding party through the streets of the town. As we wound our way downhill, the couple encountered women of the town poised and ready to greet them. The local women were armed with trays of flower petals which they sprinkled at the happy couple's feet. Some of the petals rained down from balconies.

We eventually arrive at a place where the streets were blocked by crisscrossed ribbons. After enjoying a beverage offered by another group of local women, the couple cut through the ribbons one by one until they reached the family home. When the last ribbon was cut, the crowd, that had swelled in numbers, cheered.
