Friday Night

On Friday night July 25th, Desireé and Orazio took us all to dinner at an Agriturismo restaurant. This is one of many of these restaurants spread throughout Italy that grows all the food they serve. Ingrid wanted to go to one of these in Sorrento but we didn't get a chance so I'm glad we were able to go to this one.

We left Il Feudo all excited and dressed up for a long drive through the mountains to Orazio's family's house in Valle Caudina (Orazio you're going to have to correct me if I get some of these things wrong), to meet Desireé, Orazio and Orazio's family. After visiting for awhile we got back in the bus to drive higher and higher on the mountain (Il Partenio).  In the distance was the ever present Castello di Montesarchio. Uncle Pat speculated that it may have been a penitentiary at one time, I think he was right.

When we got to the restaurant, the view was spectacular (La Vista Di Taburno). After taking a group photo for the Staten Island Advance, we settled down for an incredible meal that lasted past midnight (I don't have any pictures of dinner because I started drinking the wine straight away). I'm hoping someone can post the menu here because I don't remember the specific dishes. 

We got back on the bus with our bellys full, for the trip back to Il Feudo.
